3 powerful ways to feel more in control

Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over what you don’t. – Steve Maraboli.

Let’s face it: everyone wants to be in control, whatever the situation may be. Many of us live our lives (I guess it’s such a millennial thing?) as if they are the passengers in a car that’s totally out of control, speeding up, zigzagging through the highway and taking a spin. How do you get back in the driver’s seat and take control?

We outline 3 important steps for taking back control of any situation.

You are the solution – Whether this is a positive or negative situation: you’ve created it yourself. It’s because of your choices and your decisions that you are here now. So it’s all your fault? Well, no. Not exactly. Because you’re the solution too. You can change something. So, don’t wait and hope for tomorrow. Take back ownership of yourself (yes, this is much easier said than done), stop being a passive participant and make it happen. Acknowledge what has happened and find a solution that’s different from what you’ve done so far. The only way is up!

Set a goal – What would you like to change today? A lot of people don’t know exactly what they want in life. They don’t like their job, but they don’t know what to do if they quit. They’re stuck in a relationship that obviously doesn’t work. They struggle with friendships that are time-consuming and doesn’t pay off. But what do you want? That’s the million dollar question. A challenging job, a steady relationship and great friends? Life without goals is like flying a plane not knowing where you want to land. The purpose of life is to know where we want to go and then go there. Don’t worry about the details, they will get to you as soon as you move towards your goal.

Trust yourself – Every experience in life – good or bad – makes you grow. You will be wiser and emotionally stronger. Some days are just bad days. You have to experience sadness to know happiness, and I remind myself that not every day is going to be a good day, that’s just the way it is. And remember: give yourself credit for every step forward.

The concepts also worked to be the easy way to fully grasp the rest have a similar keenness similar to my own to find out more related to this issue. I am sure there are some more pleasurable periods ahead for those who looked at your site.

I wanted to put you the very little observation to finally give thanks as before regarding the splendid principles you have featured on this website. This has been simply unbelievably open-handed with you to make freely what a lot of folks would have distributed for an e book to generate some cash for their own end, most importantly seeing that you might have tried it if you ever decided.

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with some pics to drive the message home a little bit, but other than that, this is great blog. A great read. I will definitely be back.

Definitely set goals. Making to-do lists that lead up to one big goal has helped me so much!
