Looking for a place to stay all day? Meet Louie Louie in the east of Amsterdam. Come for breakfast, get some work done. Have lunch, meet deadlines. Enjoy some bites and without even noticing, you’re up for after work drinks.
Louie Louie is a beautiful bar in the Linnaeusstraat, on the opposite of the Tropenmuseum. We love the fact that the building itself is very light (thanks to the conservatory), and the interior design is a mix of pitch black, turquoise, browns, and greens. Lighting colors and furnishings right down to the last detail – even the toilets look amazing. From the conservatory, you overlook the huge terrace, definitely one of the best terrace spots in this particular area.
Style-wise, it wouldn’t surprise you that Louie Louie’s owners are the well known Drie Wijzen uit Oost, who own popular bars like Waterkant, de Biertuin, Smokin’ Barrels, Bar Basquiat, Maxwell, Bar Bukowski, Eddy Spaghetti, Café Kuijper and Elsa’s as well.
The menu is inspired by the South American cuisine: enjoy Mexican-style Eggs Benedict in the morning, some tostadas for lunch and tacos (oh, yes!) for dinner. With some fruity sangria on the side, of course. And churros for dessert. Por favor.
Another plus: make sure to stroll through the Oosterpark (only a five minutes walk tot the entrance) as a perfect work break.
