Lattes and laptops: Wilde westen
CHAPTER FRIDAYCHAPTER FRIDAYCHAPTER FRIDAYCHAPTER FRIDAY

There are tons of fun places to sit down and work on that paper you’ve been dreading for weeks. But finding a suiting place that’s warm, relaxed and quiet at the same time… quite the task. Cycling through the city, we found a new, super Instagrammable spot to plug in your laptop and work for a few hours, or just unplug in the evening.

Name: Wilde Westen

1. What’s the interior and atmosphere like?
This place is BIG with seating available for around 100 guests. During the morning and afternoon there are plenty of vacant tables to choose from. The restaurant area is situated in the souterrain of an old office building, and even though it’s huge, it still has a cozy, creative living room feeling. Oh, and don’t forget your laundry, there’s a secret laundromat made out of Smeg fridges… Long story short: you have to see it for yourself!

2. How is the coffee?
They serve a good latte and cappuccino! Waiters have time to chitchat a bit, which gives you a welcoming feeling. The poached eggs, fresh pizzas, salads and smoothies ask for a second and third visit soon.

3. Could you actually work here?
If you have a meeting or a brainstorm? Yes. Want to work or study here more often? Innovative duo MOMA&CO created flexible work places in the building, which makes Wilde Westen a creative hub. On the agenda: seminars, expositions (we spotted the art work of Bregje!) presentations and private parties.

4. Where do you find Wilde Westen?
Located at Bos en Lommerplantsoen 1, you want to google that… it’s easy to get lost here. Wilde Westen is the go-to place if you live in the West of Amsterdam or if you want to see what the city has to offer besides the – ofter quite crowded – city center.
