Not everyone is born with a large portion of (self)confidence. While some choose to shine, others prefer to be a pretty wallflower from time to time. There are situations though where confidence is an admirable, if not necessary, trait. For example, during a job interview, when you must show the competition why you are the one that should be hired. Luckily, there are some effortless ways to make yourself feel more confident. Time to step up your game!
Find out what you want
If you work towards a set goal in life, you’ll instantly feel more confident. Set a target that you’d like to reach and work for it. Every time you set one step closer to your goal, you’ll be able to tap yourself on the shoulder. With that, your confidence will eventually grow. Find yourself an inspirator, for example a young entrepreneur or a leading lady in the fashion business, where you can look up to.
Get back up
While you’re busy trying to achieve your goals, you might fall down. Correction, you will fall down - and you’ll probably fall down more than once. It happens to everyone – even the greatest. The thing is, falling down won’t influence your confidence but not getting back up will. If you get back up, you’ll be able to learn from your mistakes and do it right the next time (or the time after the next time).
Take care of your appearance
A few extra minutes each morning to fix your hair (time to dust off the good old curling iron!) is proven to be the best way to make you feel more confident (hello foxy lady!) throughout the day. Take some time to combine an outfit that suits you and that you feel most comfortable in. If you step outside with the feeling that you look good, you will actually feel good too.
Be positive
There’s always a bright side to every situation - if you approach everything negatively, you might call Murphy’s Law all over yourself. Find the positive and embrace it. It will instantly change your perspective, make you feel more positive and therefore boost your confidence. Of course there will be days when you feel like crap, but then just think about how you felt yesterday. Insert happy thoughts!
Compliment others
Sharing positive energy is probably the most effective way to feel happy about yourself. Giving a compliment to someone you know - or just a random stranger - will make not only make you feel better, you share the love with someone else too. Compliment others at least once a day and you’ll receive a compliment in return within no time. Just try it out. Why not start today?
