The Bloglovin’ Awards: a big photo diary

Pfeeew! I just landed in Amsterdam, and it’s good to be home again. Being back in reality (check!), I still can’t get this huge smile of my face (this picture says it all) and I’m reliving the whole Bloglovin’ night again and again. Loving whoohoo-yes-you-did-it-messages keep pouring in :)

When I started blogging six years ago I had no idea how huge this phenomenon would become, or what my small part in it could be. As a curious, young eighteen year old I was simply fascinated by the fact that I could finally see what girls all over the world were wearing and doing. I started reading websites like WhoWhatWear, Fashion Toast and Garance Doré and soon was inspired to create my own little platform of thoughts.

New York based photographer Esther Jung captured the event and the photos reflect exactly how this evening felt. I started following Esther on Instagram months ago, because of her fresh, colorful captures of the city. She came along with me and my friend - after having just met an hour ago - and brought great positivity to this evening. Don’t you just love how social media bring people from all over the world together? I can’t wait to show you all of the images we shot of my outfit in typical New York backdrops. (We had originally put some in this post, but I want to give them the platform they deserve in a special article).

Coming together with some of the most influential and recognizable bloggers to celebrate our industry - and to go home with a huge award because of your votes - was a highlight to remember for sure… New York, you were amazing!
