If there’s one interior trend that no blog or Pinterest board has missed, it’s the feather trend. You might remember the post we did about this lovely interior piece. Surely you can buy these fabulous feathers at your favorite designer store, but even the biggest tech noob can easily make this feather frame at home. Curious? Let us show you how to handle this little project with a big interior impact. Ready, set, DIY!
THIS IS WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Feathers
For this DIY you can opt for one big beautiful feather, three identical ones or feathers in different sizes, colors and sorts. That’s the fun thing about do-it-yourself projects: the end result lies completely in your own hands. You can find beautiful feathers on Etsy or in most hobby shops.
A floating frame
This is a frame without passe-partout and with two glass plates, so you can clamp something in between.
A hammer
Mind your fingers!
AND THEN? DIY!
STEP 1: Gently flatten the hard end of the feather(s) with a hammer, so it actually fits in the frame and nicely lies flat.
STEP 2: Make a composition of the feathers on one of the glass plates.
STEP 3: Carefully put the other glass plate on top of it and slide the entire thing into the frame.
STEP 4: Take a moment to think about the fact that this really is the easiest craft project ever and find a nice place to put it.
This particular style reaches its full potential best when it’s styled nonchalantly. Put the frame casually on the ground or on a table and mix it with other frames in different sizes. It will instantly give your interior a boost!

Hey Yara! This so seriously so cool, haven’t seen a DIY like this before. And the feathers you’ve chosen are so pretty (naturally, as you’re going to hang them on your wall).

Echt heel gaaf! Alleen geen idee waar ik deze lijstjes kan vinden.. Blog voor Hema? Leuk!
Oh I love this DIY! Super cute. xo
Love this DIY. Yesterday I made it with peacock feathers, so nice!
