It’s one of those simple pleasures in life that doesn’t cost a thing. Free hugs anyone? So we’ve decided to dedicate a post to the joy of squeezing someone in your arms. It’s our favorite Sunday activity, with the preferred location being a huge pile of pillows.
This is why we think cuddling is awesome (and totally beneficial for your health). PS. After reading this you’re probably going to want to hug someone
Cuddling…
… releases oxytocin (wait, what?!) A.k.a. a little all natural drug we like to call the ‘happy hormone’. This brain chemical is also known as the trust hormone, as it brings people closer together. (You can get a quick fix at all times simply by shaking someone’s hand!)
… makes you look at the world more positively. Research has shown that people who feel affectionate towards each other see the world a little brighter. So let’s cuddle a bit more and save the world!
… helps you bond with other people. Especially women can establish a closer relationship through hugging. Apparently, a hug is all you need to make both of your days a little better.
… comforts you and reduces stress. When you’re cuddling, your body relaxes and makes you feel more comfortable and at ease. Once your body is completely zen, it recudes stress you’ve been dealing with during the day.
… helps you say something when you can’t find the words. Sometimes silence speaks louder than words, so why not cuddle if you’re going to be silent anyway?
OK, let’s wrap ourselves in someone’s arms now!
Yep. Cuddles are pretty great. (Y)
Cuddling is great EVERY day of the week!
It’s probably my favourite thing to do in the whole wide world.
