Answer These Hilarious Questions And Find Your Life Purpose
CHAPTER FRIDAY

The thing with a life purpose is that it can sometimes be pretty hard to find. Like a real life purpose. The important one that make you want to do life differently in order to actually achieve it (that is kind of the idea of having one in the first place #chapterfridayforpresident). And because we’re people, and because people think pretty much alike (to some extent, that is), we all feel like we should have at least one life purpose that counts. For we have been placed on this earth for some higher purpose, right, and don’t we owe it to ourselves to find out what that higher purpose may be? Precisely. Now things indeed get complicated. Considering: what if you have no idea whatsoever?

Author and thinker Mark Manson puts it like this: “Most of us have no clue what we want to do with our lives. Even after we finish school. Even after we get a job. Even after we’re making money. Between ages 18 and 25, I changed career aspirations more often than I changed my underwear.” Well, that’s comforting, since Mark is a Pretty Successful Person nowadays.

As for the whole concept ‘life purpose’ he states: “This is the same kind of shitty logic used to justify things like spirit crystals or that your lucky number is 34 (but only on Tuesdays or during full moons).”

So instead of asking yourself what your life purpose is, or should be, you’d be better off answering these seven questions, who are a little bit ludicrious, but, says Mr. Manson (loving this person big time): “I made them that way because discovering purpose in our lives should be something that’s fun and interesting, not a chore.” And if Mr. Manson says so… Exactly.

Okay, let’s just toss one up of his questions. Ready? Here it comes: what makes you forget to eat and poop? (No, binge-watching Homeland does not count.) What makes you tick? Can you lose yourself in dancing, drawing, writing, cleaning (no shame in that), cooking, drinking (this could be a problem), to a point where you think: oops-a-daisy, I forgot to have dinner? Good.

To work Mark Manson one more time into this article: “I used to be like that with video games. This probably wasn’t a good thing. In fact, for many years it was kind of a problem. I would sit and play video games instead of doing more important things like studying for an exam, or showering regularly, or speaking to other humans face-to-face. It wasn’t until I gave up the games that I realized my passion wasn’t for the games themselves (although I do love them). My passion is for improvement, being good at something and then trying to get better.”

Getting the point? Go answer the other six questions, too - and don’t forget to read the hilarious answers of Mark himself.

> What’s your favorite flavor of shit sandwich, and does it come with an olive?
> What is true about you today that would make your 8-year-old self cry?
> How can you better embarrass yourself?
> How are you going to save the world?
> If you had to leave the house all day, every day, where would you go and what would you do?
> If you knew you were going to die one year from today, what would you do and how would you want to be remembered?

Love to read what your answer on the forget-to-eat question is, too!

i LOVE this post. I went straight and read the original post and even wrote the answers down to the questions - this post has got me feeling inspired, and I think I’ll just have to do a post on my blog in the near future with my answers to the questions just so I can hopefully pass on this same feeling of inspiration.
