Imagine being a long-term blog reader with a big thing for fashion, getting picked up by a driver, jetting off to FashionWeek and the 10 Days Downtown opening party (partner on the dancefloor: moi) and going home with your first ever designer bag. It’s what went down last Friday with Gisele, the big winner of the Zalando Downtown competition.

As you’d expect, in true FW form, a camera crew was on standby to capture our every move. From a wild, sequin-studded runway show to me talking Gisele through three top trends (Think: denim deluxe, seventies show and pastel power!) and a fashion scavenger hunt.

We ended the night on a sizzling hot - quite literally, actually - party where I sent Gisele on a mission. (Those designer bags aren’t just up for grabs, as I’m sure you understand ;)). She scanned the crowd for people dressed in looks that matched the three major trends discussed. The look on Gisele’s face when she received her designer bag, after all this hard work, has to be the money shot. Priceless. Go see for yourself!

5 Days Downtown left to dive into!
What I personally love and appreciate most about Zalando presents 10 days downtown is that it makes fashion a bit more democratic. It gives girls (and the occasional guy!) that might not have 100K Instagram followers a taste of what it’s like at FashionWeek and gives them a burst of fashion, art and music inspiration. We’re halfway through the 10 events, including ten different dress codes on ten different locations and there’s a lot of hot stuff lined up.

Today I’m off to the Zalando Downtown show at Tolhuistuin, to see creations by Linda Friesen, Ebby Port and Gabriel Guevera. I could think of worse things to do on a Wednesday night… ;)
