Yara’s festival favorites with Forever 21

Pack your backpack, install your summer playlist and bare your belly in a crop top! It’s the festival season, and there’s still a month to go, so today I’m channelling my favourite easy breezy summer looks with Forever 21.

So… about these festival looks
I’ll honestly admit that I put at least fifteen minutes of outfit planning into a festival look. (Hey, there are boys, bands, booze – and sometimes the three come combined – so some plotting is in place!). At a festival I want to be comfortable and wear pieces that I can play around in and that I won’t freak out about in case of food stain situations (aka something budget friendly). And usually I navigate towards the rock & roll or hippie end of the style spectrum a bit more than I do on a regular day.

Yara’s festival style tips
For this small festival lookbook I’ve pulled all items from the newest Forever 21 collection (I spend about one-and-a-half hours browsing the homepage. It’s crazy how much stuff is on there!), and I’ve opted for:
- A black slip dress with biker boots and backpack, the slightly more fancy and less obvious choice than a maxi dress. For anyone who likes mixing something feminine in to their festival look - I surely appreciate a delicate slip dress with Dr. Martens.
- A vintage inspired top with denim shorts, always an effective summer duo. In case you’re wondering, the AC/DC one I’m wearing is a kick-ass find from the New Arrivals section where you can find most of the pieces from this post!
- A long sleeve crop top with bright and breezy shorts. A floral or ikat print adds some flair to your festival wardrobe. If this look is right up your style alley, perhaps try mixing prints by adding a striped top.

Although, obviously, visiting a music festival is mainly about the line-up (I can’t wait to see Milky Chance live this summer!), I love paying attention to festival fashion too. I’m sure you agree that crop tops, tiny denim shorts, kimonos and florals suit a summer festival like, well, ketchup suits a hot dog.
