Ways to define a best friend forever
girls-are-back

You two are definitely sisters from another mister and remarkably close to being attached at the hip. But at the same time you can go extended stretches of weeks without talking and hanging out constantly, but still, she’s your bestie. Your wifey. Your non-sexual life partner. Here’s how to define a real, true friend who’s got your back at all times.

Shared media on Whatsapp
Whatsapp is the tool to talk about nothing and everything at the same time. You’ve send each other loads of quotes about how men are assholes, how your bad hair looks on Thursday and what’s for dinner tonight. Your shared media probably exceeded 500 photos. Guilty.

Happy snacking
You feel comfortable enough at her place to raid the refrigerator and grab yourself some snacks.

Future plans
You’ve discussed and agreed that hypothetically, that in ten years you’ll be walking down the street of upstate New York together with your future husbands and kids. This includes already picked-out outfits - you’d wear a cool jumpsuit with heels and she’d be all glam in a fancy skirt + top. Hypothetically. (But as we know, all future plans start with an outfit).

Is this my skirt or yours?
Her closet is your closet.

Who’s that girl
It has been quite a long time since you actually called your girlfriend by her true name, instead of the 20+ nicknames you’ve made up over the years.

‘Your butt looks humongous!’
Your interaction naturally begins and ends with casual insults the majority of the time. But obviously you make fun of yourself most of the time.

So, I went into a bar…
She’s on speed dial and by far your most favorite person to call at 3 AM with a groggy drunk voice to tell her all about your night/date/event.

Sixth sense
Your BFF can finish your sentences and often knows what you’re thinking before it comes out of your mouth. It’s like she can read your mind, and truth be told (or not, in this case), you can read hers too.

You have favorite songs together
When listening to a random playlist and your track comes along, you instantly feel a nostalgic feeling coming.

Honesty
If you’re being an a-hole, she’ll make you aware of it to your face. Real friends are there to share the good and the bad.

You don’t mind that tumbleweed passing by at all
There are silences, but they don’t feel the least bit uncomfortable or awkward. If you can sit down and shut up with a person, never feeling obligated to fill that hushed void, you’ve got a special connection.
