Perfection is hard to come by. And it’s so good when you do. When it comes to fashion, i find that the simplest pieces are most difficult to find. I can’t count the hours I have spent looking for a simple and perfect pair of black trousers, for a cool yet not too trendy leather biker jacket and for black heeled ankle boots that will complement each outfit without being loud.
Another one of those wardrobe quests is finding the perfect black or white t-shirt. The t-shirt requirements that I refuse to negotiate on are as follows. My perfect t-shirt needs to have:
1. A loose boyfriend fit while still being slim cut
2. A soft fabric that drapes around the body rather than being boxy
3. A wide, round neck that shows a hint of cleavage (I love me some boobage!)
4. Minimal detailing, meaning a small chest pocket at most.
So when I became the new owner of this T by Alexander Wang shirt, straight from ANSH46 which you know - as you’ve met Kelly in the first edition of Career one on one. I am a huge fan of the Alexander Wang tee’s for their ideal fit (although mysteriously one of them instantly pilled, others are lasting me forever). And I came to wonder: what is the ONE perfect basic that you can’t seem to find anywhere?

I have 3 T by Alexander wang shirts but they all look shit after a couple times in the wash. Really bad for the money they cost. I agree they have the perfect fit but all 3 have holes so can’t really wear them anymore…
UGH, that sucks. I have mixed experiences with hem as well! But the fit is better than I’ve ever come across anywhere else…
Can I add something to that? Because if you wash them in a washing bag on the gentlest program your washer possibly can, then they last forever! I have a quite big collection and none of them have holes! I know it’s kind of a bummer that you have to be so careful but rather that than holes

That one does look perfect! I have spent months trying to find the perfect white, black and grey t-shirt. My fav is the grey Acne-shirt. It is soft, feminine and minimal with no details. My black is from Bread and Boxers and it is nice but still a little too thick (it might get too hot in T-shirt weather). The white one is from Uniclothing and too small…. White shirts are the hardest since they tend to be seethrough. Wearing a singlet under a T-shirt just defeats the purpose!

I agree about that. I’ve been looking for a perfect grey t-shirt that is not too light ot too dark and also found one from T by Alexander Wang - I think this line is a great for basics in all areas.

Ik ben al jaren op zoek naar de perfecte witte blouse, maar tot op heden niet geslaagd. En zoals we allemaal weten: hoe meer eisen je eraan stelt, hoe moeilijker het wordt (maar als je hem dan eindelijk hebt gevonden is ie ook perfect).
Dit shirt heeft wel een prachtige loose fit. Love it

I think these are all good tips. I happen to feel that boyfriend tee’s are extremely sexy.
I thought mine was a black Alexander Wang too until after 5 washes I discovered 6 holes in the shirt. I went back to the store and turns out I can’t wash the shirt… i have never heard something so ridiculous. Now I use the Wondertees from Acne which are pretty great too (and you can wash them, hallelujah)
Perfect black skinnies (settled for the perfect dark grey skinnies), perfect black ankle boots, perfect leather jacket, perfect white shirt,… The list is endless!
